Important question for the wellness woman who’s healthy on paper, but feels like crap IRL:
What would it take to heal your gut: no bloat that makes you look pregnant by 7 pm, no reflux to keep you awake at night, and no food sensitivities that make you order the same 3 things at restaurants on girls night out?
If you guessed
“finally sticking to the Low FODMAP”, or a “bland diet” to “lower inflammation” for 30 more days, you’d be wrong.
Or if you thought that…
it was about reactivating the pricey colostrum and seed subscriptions– nope, that’s wrong, too.
And if your guess was about
gathering more data and doing another food sensitivity test to finally understand your triggers and stay away from them forever– respectfully, that ain’t it.
Because while all of these strategies are objectively good ones for women experiencing the wide spectrum of gut probs, they don’t address the reason why you’ve been stuck with symptoms since 2016.
And if health-conscious women like you can’t get their habits to actually yield a decent ROI in the form of energy and normal bowel movements, they will inevitably continue to chase quick fixes, expensive band-aid supplements and never truly feel free from the chokehold that wellness has on them 💸💸.
And once again you’ll find yourself on taco Tuesday thinking that a little pico de gallo can't be that bad… only to pay for it with a chest on fire, overly-salivated mouth and a sleepless night.
The next day you swear never again, and remove any sort of joyful meal out of the fridge: dairy, gluten, and anything with “too much” fiber, out! You know what to do, you’ve done it many times, yet every flare is different– always feeling like a new puzzle to solve with a few missing pieces.
🫠But hey! something’s gotta stick– whether it’s the digestive enzymes, one of the many probiotics laying around, or the many kinds of de-bloat teas. Days go by before you feel normal again. This cycle repeats on the next social hang. How is it that you’re the only one that this happens to?
As a health-conscious woman who gives her body quality foods and movement, you should never feel afraid to eat basic-ass vegetables. You should be able to draw nutrition from the foods that you eat and love, instead of them setting off a cascade of inflammation, bloat, indigestion and reflux.
You are meant to have predictable (and dare I say boring) bowel movements that take no space in your brain and no mental gymnastics to figure out which foods aren’t gonna trigger a flare, and with each flare, it becomes more difficult to trust your body.
All of the hard, intentional work you put into your body should come back in energy and vitality– to have a fridge full of nourishing foods that bring you joy: aged cheeses, tomatoes, the most beautiful farmers market vegetables.
✨ To eat without symptoms– because after all, food is the ultimate fuel and the vessel through which we create memories with our friends, family and yes– even situationships.
I might sound like you when I say…
“I’ve tried changing my diet many times, I don’t eat trigger foods and it has never made a big difference. If it was about diet I would’ve figured this out by now”
Oh, this hits home– the weirdest puzzle is that changing your diet sometimes even leaves you with more symptoms than before. Like how is it that removing dairy makes you more sensitive to it in the long run?
BUT! changing your diet is only ONE piece of this 10-part puzzle that is healing the gut.
For some reason food always takes the spotlight when trying to heal the gut, without considering any of the many other factors that got you there in the first place.
Food isn’t really the problem, it’s just one of the many solutions. And when you combine the food with the other solutions– boom! you heal. It was never about food alone)
“There must be something wrong with me, even if the doctors say everything looks fine… but I don’t feel fine”
Ugh, getting told that everything is fine despite spending time, energy, and money on medical visits is nothing short of frustrating. BUT when doctors say that everything looks fine, this is a green flag and needs to be celebrated. Doctors are diagnostic, and if your labs come out as “normal”, that just means you don’t have a life threatening situation on your hands.
Doctors are not trained in reversing chronic symptoms using nutrition, however. That’s the job of gut health practitioners.
“Gut issues are normal– everyone has something and mine are not that bad”
Gut issues are definitely normalized, we collectively live in a world with lots of stressors, environmental toxins, and processed foods– so we all gon’ have something. But not because these issues are normalized does not mean they are normal. Think of yourself years ago: maybe you just had a little bloat back in 2018, but now this has transformed into a more persistent issue.
You are entitled to live your healthiest life. Don’t settle for what’s normal for the crowd.
“Dairy, gluten, and sugar are inherently bad for gut health but I don’t want to stop eating those foods. I’d rather deal with the symptoms than to restrict myself.”
Totally valid to want to keep eating the foods that you love, but you don’t need restriction to heal. In fact, gut issues are more of a lifestyle issue than a food issue. Crazy restrictions are not needed when the other pieces of the puzzle are being considered. This comes back to the misconception most people have about food –> gut issues: it’s really not about eliminating the “bad” foods, it’s more so about adding healing agents and repair what’s been damaged.
A proper healing plan can allow you to add more foods to your weekly menu. It’s a win-win.
“I’m really good at managing my acid reflux, I just need to get back on track.”
Sure, managing symptoms is a totally valid way to approach gut issues. But being able to eat grandma’s cooking (and better yet– go for seconds) without issues the next day isn’t realistically possible unless you’ve built enough resiliency in your gut (aka healing). Managing symptoms with acid blockers and avoiding certain foods is fine, but at what cost?
Eating anything you want without having to reach for TUMS is not all there is to gut healing, but it sure is the best part about it.
Instead of using your precious time and energy making an oil of oregano + bone broth concoction every time your gut acts out, or just fasting altogether until symptoms cease and desist…
why not get to the actual root of the issue, one that once identified, allows you to never again reach for a bandaid that only sort-of works?
When you stop being okay with living with discomfort and learn how to actually take care of yourself in supportive, simple, and sustainable way, you’ll finally:
🍝 Get to properly enjoy vacations, family outings, and holidays without feeling limited by your choices.
🍳 Eat a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner–when you’re hungry– and not because you need something in your stomach to avoid a gastritis flare.
💪🏼 Stop eating toddler-like meals because that’s all your stomach could handle and start having full plates that fuel your passions.
🥐 Stand up to your biggest food fear: dairy /gluten / beans, and actually have a fighting chance (you win)
🤸🏼♀️ Feel mentally and physically free from the chokehold your gut has had on you for the past few years
🙇 Look forward to eating instead of spending a big chunk of time wondering “is this gonna cause a flare, and if so, how bad?”
📴 Turn off those obsessive thoughts around food– and heal your relationship with it. You will do this mostly for yourself, but also for the generations that will come after you
🔥 Feel confident that your jeans will fit the same way through the evening because bloating is a thing of the past.
❤️🩹 Learn how to trust your body and feel confident in understanding its cues. Medical gaslighting and “normal” labs won’t stand a chance against you.
⚠️ Eat without needing a plan, a backup plan, and a post-meal protocol
🍌 Go to the bathroom daily and see nothing but banana-shaped stools and the feeling of a fully emptied tank.
🚮 Throw away the TUMS, alka seltzer and stool softeners, after all they haven’t been as effective as they used to be. And also, you won’t need them.

Hi! I'm Mariu
A certified holistic nutritionist (NTP), certified autoimmune protocol coach, and former gal with questionable bowels. After coaching nearly 100 women and men into better gut health from IBS, GERD, chronic gastritis and IBD, I landed onto the most overlooked piece of the puzzle when healing the gut: the (not so sexy, but extremely necessary) foundations.
Healing the gut from chronic symptoms (IBS, reflux, bloat…), starts with a -surprisingly simple- rock-solid foundation: a secret that big wellness and big pharma alike don’t want you to know… otherwise they’d go out of business.
a hands-on, 4-week virtual workshop designed specifically to reduce symptoms associated with acid reflux, IBS, and excess bloat from the root.
Learn how to apply proven gut healing principles to your own life and heal from within
Introducing…
Hi, I’m Mariu (NTP, Certified Autoimmune Protocol Coach
I’ve spent the last 5 years helping women heal anything from “harmless” bloat to life-altering autoimmune gut conditions.
No matter how different their symptoms were, every single one shared the same problem: a gap on her foundations. They were stacking on probiotics, elimination diets, and the latest miracle supplement without putting first things first.
By solving problems in the right order, The Gut Freedom Foundations helps you achieve more progress in 4 weeks than in years of inconclusive tests, green juice cleanses, and shiny supplements with neon packaging.
This is the opposite of a quick fix: it’s intentional work that’s efficient, effective, and (yes) fun.
Here’s what’s inside:

FAQs
What time are the Sessions?
Saturdays at 11 am PDT. All sessions will take place on Zoom. No need to make it live if your schedule does not permit. A replay will be uploaded that same day!
How is this different from all the diets, supplements, and gut programs I’ve already tried?
While I can’t speak for what you’ve tried in the past, there’s a reason you’re reading this page = your symptoms still persist. Oftentimes programs focus on short-term solutions for the “quick win” and not on sustainable foundational change that stays with you. If you’ve been doing a lot of “quick fixes”, this is not it, and that’s a GOOD thing.
If I already eat clean, why would I need this?
If you eat “clean”/healthy and still have symptoms of gastritis, reflux or IBS, this means there’s a pretty wide gap on your foundations. The Gut Freedom *Foundations* may help you bridge the gap. We don’t even talk about food until week 3– that’s how much more weight other variables hold when it comes to gut issues.
Will I have to give up all my favorite foods?
Nope! We won’t do elimination diets inside The GFF. You’ll be encouraged to avoid the food you know to be bad for you (as in ppl with lactose intolerance), but other than that, this is a program that’s going to (safely) add more food instead of taking away.
Is this just another elimination diet?
See above!
If I don’t have reflux or IBS symptoms every day, do I really need help?
If your gut symptoms disrupt your quality of life in any way: having to dissect the menu at restaurants to scan for good ingredients, saying no to food you love, needing to unbutton your pants at the end of the day from bloat… then yes.
Are there any additional costs to the program?
This is a one-time-payment program (unless you choose the payment plan option!). You won’t be required to purchase any supplements, testing, or resources.
What if I can’t stick to it?
If sticking to things is a bigger theme in your life, I got you. We’ll spend the first lesson learning some tools to get to the root cause of your commitment issues.
And if you’re concerned about the workload and keeping up with the “curriculum”– no worries! It’s going to be super simple to follow!
How long will it take before I start seeing results?
As much as I want to give you a straight answer for this, it’d be highly unethical for me to make any pinky promises. The timeline of the results will VARY, and that’s a good thing– everyone is encouraged to go at their pace. This workshop is designed to help you progress and see incremental results every week based on your symptom baseline. This can look like:
Going from having acid reflux every day to only having it a couple times a week.
Shifting from bowel movements that feel like a rock, to solid, banana-shaped ones
Or having level 9.5 abdominal pain every day to level 2-3.
Going from being in the dark about your gut issues to knowing exactly what to do to avoid a flare and/or to see relief.
What if my symptoms are too far gone to fix?
There’s no such thing. I’ve worked with women with IBD who experience daily pain, nausea, and diarrhea after every meal. They still feel better when they get to work on their foundations– after all, you gotta start somewhere!
What if I mess up or have a bad food day? I’m dealing with a lot atm.
Great! That means you’re human and not an Ai bot (phew!). Messing up does not exist in this program– you just get to try again on your next meal or next day.
